Who are the Kardashians?

This is a serious question.

Seriously, I do not know who these people are or why they're famous. Checking the WikiPedia entry on Kim -- apparently the most famous Kardashian -- leaves me more baffled.

Their father was a lawyer, one of O.J.'s lawyers. OK.

They have nice round, fertile-looking bodies, but so does my next door neighbor. So does the lady across the hall, whose father was also a lawyer. If nice lady curves were the only requirement for celebrity, places like Omaha would be crawling with paparazzi. Those corn-fed Midwestern hotties are smokin'. But we don't care a whit about them, do we?

Kim apparently released a sex tape. Big whoop! I could watch sex tapes of corn-fed midwestern hotties all day long if I wanted. It's not like sex tapes are all that unusual in this day and age. That must be one heck of a sex tape if that's what made her so famous!

They had a reality show. Snore. Bore. So if the cameras follow you around and you're hot, all of a sudden people are interested in you and you can release your own fragrance? I just don't get it...

Call me old fashioned, but I miss the days when celebrities had to actually have some sort of talent, a body of work, something that says, "Hey, I'm special! You should be interested in me!"
