Poem About Obama
Great, just what the world needs: another bad poem. Here goes...
"Ode to Barack Obama"
by CharlieHipHop
From nowhere
Or everywhere
You came
Changed the game
A New Age Lincoln
With a funky name
Power bleach
To remove the stain
Eight years of pain
War, torture, shame
You peddle hope
And restore faith
That someday
Our dreams
Of liberty, equality,
Opportunity
Will mesh with reality
That someday
Is now.
Don't let us down.
We got your back.
Let's slam the jam
Like Shaq
Let's do this
Like Brutus
'Cause we always knew this:
(Yeah, I cribbed that)
We can. We can.
Make it happen.
Shine. We shine.
You won't let us forget.
We'll let you be great
If you'll let us.
That's the Way,
Right down that path,
Isn't it?
Yeah, for sure.
Live and let live.
Essence of freedom
Wafts from bloom
After a long freeze.
That ephemeral flower
Is you.
We're the roots.
We'll take food
From dirt
And pass it up.
Enjoy the sun.
[In case you're interested, I also hastily produced a little song for (not about) Obama.]

#1 Much to my surprise...
...this seems to have struck a chord somewhere. Thanks to everybody who shared it with someone else. Don't forget to vote.
Barack the vote!
#2 Charliehiphop, Your poem
Charliehiphop,
Your poem is beautiful. We are entering a new Age, and your words herald the official beginning of that Age. Thank you for sharing the light in your mind. May we all be free to dream.
#3 Wow
Thanks for the kind words. My words really don't herald anything, though, except the fact that some sort of activity transpired in my grey matter.
