Obama's Amazing Philadelphia Speech on Race
Can you imagine having a great orator as president after eight years of His Shrubness? After hearing Obama's speech on race in Philadelphia, now I can, and it is a sweet thought indeed.
Obama's response to the attacks against his reverand was courageous, bold, unrelenting, non-triangulating, non-defensive, honest, and direct. (My Goddess, how refreshing to see those qualities in a politician!) He didn't dance around the issues. He didn't throw his friend or his church under a bus. He stood up for what is right. This man deserves every square millimeter of the White House. The question is, do we deserve him?
Obama is a great person, a great speaker, and exactly the kind of leader we're going to need in the coming times. He's pretty much our one great hope.
I can't find a link to video of the entire speech, but you can piece it together here. A partial (?) transcription and some commentary can be found here.
