CharlieHipHop: Inaugural Address 'Magnificent'
Hail to the new Chief, and good luck to you, Mr. President!
It was as if dark clouds gave way to brilliant sunshine, the warm rays of hope obliterating pelting rain. He spoke of reconciliation, of progress, of peace, of leading the world out of this mess. He drew not cynically upon our fear but on our better natures, our sense of community and can-do-it-edness. Turning the page on the nightmarish Duhbya chapter in American history, he moved us forward in our national narrative in a way that no president has, certainly no president of the last 100 years.
I hope that as things (quite possibly) get worse in the next year or two, people never forget what caused the mess and always strive to correct those mistakes. I hope that the O'mentum has the stamina to carry us through this for another couple of years. If we can keep it together over these next couple of years and learn from the errors of the past, we can build something akin to what our Founding Fathers might have dreamed after their craziest battles and wildest celebrations. Seriously, I feel like things could get really good if everybody does their little part and we all maintain a view toward a better future, a view focused through the lens of the successes and failures of the past.
Today I am very proud to be an American, but not as proud as I will be when the promise of a new day (based on the old covenants) is delivered upon.

Obama's dope. He gives me hope.

I agree. Magnificent is a perfect way to describe the speech.
I'm very hopeful about this president and his administration. You might even say I have confidence him. Having been recently stung by politics myself, I should be sheepish about this sort of thing. But I can't help it.
#4 Neither can I
I know it's a dirty game, but I can't help but feel optimistic that this guy is a gift of Providence. He's what the country needs right now -- a unifying force, somebody who demonstrably cares about normal folks. To call him a breath of fresh air after the eight-year Bush beer fart doesn't do it justice.
