Annual Wall Street Bonus Rant
[Why, oh why, do I have to do this every year?]
Wall Street jocks only paid themselves $20 billion in bonuses this year, a year in which they lost untold billions of dollars and came hat-in-hand to us, hardworking (when we can find work) taxpayers, asking for a $700 billion handout.
Seemingly just to rub it in, they rewarded themselves for successfully carrying out this great snow job with friggin' BONUSES!!! Worth $20 BILLION!?!?

F!?!?!?!!!!
Then they have the raw audacity to justify this robbery by making the argument that they need to pay such large bonuses to retain their "top talent." You know what I think of your "top talent," ya' jerks? I think they all need to take a friggin' hike! Get real jobs. Open doors or pick up trash or do something useful.
Citbank paid its "top talent" $4 billion in bonuses this year. That talent pool lost $19 billion over the course of the year. Hey, I'd say they earned a hefty bonus, right?
Here's what turns me red, though: They're complaining about their bonuses.
“Without a doubt, $18 billion is a lot of money, but it’s a drop in the bucket on Wall Street,” said Gustavo Dolfino, president of the WhiteRock Group, a headhunter for the banks. “These bonuses are down, and the salaries are not enough for these people. They can’t live on $150 to $180,000, so they haven’t saved any money. They put it on credit lines and at bonus time, they thought they’d pay it off.”
Cry. Me. The. Mighty. Mississippi.
One Citibank dude said he felt like he had gotten a "doorman's tip." It's enough to make you want to stake the guy straight through the heart with one of these.
I'd love to have a job as a doorman right now. It's honest labor, usually union, great benefits, livable wages. I hope Mr. "Doorman's Tip" learns his lesson the hard way. I know it's not nice to wish ill on someone, but when so many people are hurting so badly and this jerk complains about his huge bonus... it really makes you hope that there is justice somewhere in this world.

#1 Infuriating, isn't it?
If you care, Moveon.org is circulating a petition to Congress about this.
Not meaning to spam you and I don't work for them. This issue pisses me off too, so I just thought you might like to know.
#2 Spam? Not to worry.
I see a lot of spam, and this ain't it. Thanks for the link.
Everyone is urged to sign the petition.
